music promotion with reverber light in 3 steps

How a band or music project can use reverber light to promote their stuff.

Lets consider a fictional band of young and talented musicians called "Eager & Jung". Until now they promoted their music through channels like MySpace. They use email and other classical ways of communication to provide journalists or bookers with material. Over the time more and more material like photos, press releases, live-takes or demo-tracks have heaped. There are different versions and the audio-material exists in very diffent quality. Every member of the band sends out material to his contacts. Therefore journalists sometimes got outdated or wrong material.

These are tasks way better organized with reverber. The light version supports you in this work and is completely free and without any further obligations.

step 1 - upload files, create assets and group them

First all files that are used for promotional activities are uploaded in reverber. Many file formats are automatically detected. Files are called "digital assets" in reverber because every file has also a corresponding description and other attributes. After the creation of several assets groups can be created to categorize them. The band for example creates a group "concert promoters" and puts every asset in it that might be interesting for promoters considering to book the band for a live gig. In our example these are three bandphotos, a general information text in PDF format, a live recording from a bigger concert and a video from another live concert.

step 2 - create partners

Now every business contact like journalists and everybody else who should be provided with material is created in reverber. Of course "Eager & Jung" puts contact details of the promoters they know into the software. These contacts are called partners in reverber. Partners can be organized and structured with pools. Our band puts all their promoter contacts into a a pool called "promoters". They may also create a pool "online magazines" and many more. Pools are categories just like asset groups. Therefore every contact can be in as many pools as needed.

step 3 - assign and publish assets

We have created assets and partners. Now we can associate assets with partners. Every asset that is associated with a partner can be downloaded by him. Of course whole assets groups can be associated with partners or even pools of partners. So our band asscociates the asset group "concert promoters" with the "promoters" pool and is - basically - done. Now they can provide promoters with their login credentials, so they can see and download the material they are interested in.

What next?

If any of the assets changes later on, a new version can be uploaded. All associated partners can only see this new version. The band on the other hand can see every version of the asset and revert to it with one click if needed.
